Aligning global teams to one technology vision
Representatives from Link Group and its Retirement and Superannuation Solutions (RSS) business recently travelled to India to visit our teams in Mumbai and Pune. RSS Technology Director, Devan Naidoo, shares some of the key goals and outcomes of the visit.
Our technology family
High on the priority list was connecting with our close to 200 team members in the India hub to create a seamless working relationship between the global teams. During his visit, Devan presented Link Group’s distinct technology vision, which he wanted to evoke a ‘feeling’ that motivates our people to enjoy and excel at what they do.

Devan met with individual leaders across software, testing and data development. He also recognised our many incredible people with an awards presentation.
Growing our capabilities
Having only been in operation for two years, the India hub is still a growing function but one that has come a long way in a short time. Graduates are eager to work with us and the hub has established a strong presence despite many larger competitors.
While there, Devan spent time working through technology and platform frustrations with hub leaders. Understanding the constraints on standing up a Centre of Excellence on some of our core platforms was an area of discussion during the trip.
Supporting greater connectedness
There was a warm welcome for the visiting Australian staff, and the offices had an “incredible energy” while Devan walked the floor. Sharing this liveliness and advancing our level of connectedness to deliver better outcomes was supported by Devan’s decision to:
- Elevate Link Group India - Head of RSS IT Leena Samant to the technology leadership team ensuring, direct through-line to him
- Support learning and development outcomes through a staff-created graduate program that gains certification, then sharing this practice with other global units
- Improve cloud implementation by establishing a governance structure and increasing the communication cadence which will support further team collaboration and cost savings

Devan will be visiting our India teams and the hub regularly in future to maintain this connectedness. There will also be opportunities to utilise skills and capabilities out of the hub as it grows, providing additional possibilities for our clients to access increasingly scalable and quality services from any jurisdiction, and in any time zone.
